It is already in you….

Everything you need to be successful is already in you. We can learn from others how to go about tasks or strategies for success, but you already possess your strengths that make you unique. We each offer this world a perspective that no one else has. Our experiences shape who we are and we can use those experiences to help others. The story of the baby born without legs who grew up in an adoptive family to be a gymnast, was a gymnast because it was already in her. Her name is Jennifer Bricker . Her parents never told her she couldn’t do something and she always believed she could do anything. Her idol was a famous gymnast. Later she found out that she was the sister of Dominique Moceanu.  The talent that was in her, was not taught, it was already within her. She had this burning desire to be a gymnast and she was because she pushed herself, even though, she was born without legs. We all have some burning desire to accomplish something. It is up to you to explore and really dig deep down into your soul and find what that burning desire is.  Many of us go through life feeling unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I really feel that feeling stems from deep within us because we are not living our full potential. Surround yourself with people that lift you up and have huge goals and aspirations. The feeling to be more is very contagious. Light that fire within you! We are all a part of the human experience. Are you ready to discover who you are?

Here are my 30 day results!

Hi guys!

I posted a pic and said I would post my Styku scan results. After 30 days of literally kicking my butt in the gym 1.5-2 hours a day plus my job, changing my eating habits, logging my food( every morsel), drinking 100-120 ounces of water a day, and pure determination, I changed my body dramatically. There isn’t a miracle pill that will melt the weight off. There is only your actions and what you truly want for yourself. I shed almost 17 inches, 15 pounds, and 5% body fat. You have to know where you want to go in order to achieve it. If you don’t have goals written down, how do you plan on getting there. I believe documenting and “cementing” it will get you there.  I had to really think and figure out what I am capable of if I put my mind and actions in sync with each other. You are amazing and you have to believe that! I really hope this post gets spread around because I want to inspire others. Not only do I like the visual results, I went to the doctor and my blood pressure came down. I also noticed that the protruding vein on my right shin has gone way down and is not as dark. I have shed( I will not use the word lose because I didn’t lose it, I purposefully got rid of it) 30 pounds since January 1, 2018. My knees are stronger( ACL replaced 4 years ago) and I have gained so much strength and definition. There are so many resources on the internet in regards to food consumption. I have followed strictly a 1500-1800 calorie diet. Most of my calories come from protein. For instance, yesterday I walked 26,118 steps, 158 floors, 10.89 miles, Burned 3,448 calories and did 111 minutes of my heart in the cardio zone. My macronutrients were 27% carbs, 20% fat, and 53% protein with my calorie count at 2,088. I did heavy lifting yesterday and I ate a few more calories than my average.  I highly encourage you to understand that you can achieve anything. Don’t listen to the naysayers. If you want to improve yourself, do it for yourself. Don’t do it for anyone else. I have realized if my motivation is for someone other than myself, it dies quickly or ends up in me feeling empty. Work on what you can control and those are your actions and your feelings. Be your amazing self! You will glow from the inside out and your light will shine on others. After so many years of taking care of everyone else, I am taking care of me. If you don’t take care of yourself, you are good to no one. Change your mind, change your body, enrich your soul, and spread your light. You have a lot to offer the world.

God Bless you!

My view right now….

I decided on my lunch break to go to this part of downtown St. Paul and take some pictures. The river looks so gorgeous right now. Today just seems like the most perfect day:) The sun is shining, people are out enjoying themselves, and it’s a perfect temp of 75! Get out and enjoy what’s around you. I know I’m guilty of not fully appreciating my immediate surroundings.

Believe. Change your thinking, change your body.

We all have personal struggles that range from some sort of addiction. Some are addicted to food, others drugs, and some people just put themselves in harms way because they have given up on themselves. Whatever the case is, we are all gifts from God. We deserve to be happy and most of all healthy. Since last September I had gained 34 pounds. On January 1st, 2018 I was miserable. I was not happy with the way I looked or felt. I was 196 pounds. That was when I decided I needed to evaluate everything going on in my life, starting with me. Oftentimes, we don’t do anything for ourselves. We give too much to others and then there is nothing left for ourselves. The worst part of that is, we feel we don’t deserve to give ourselves time. Why is that? Seriously, most of us treat ourselves like crap. Stop that!!! Just stop that! You are worthy. You deserve to be happy and to be loved. You have to start with your mental state. Your brain is a powerful component to your serenity. Even just taking the time to breathe deeply, to laugh often, and to enjoy the company of friends is vital to your life. Having friends is important. I know it is important and for many years when I was a stay at home mom, I didn’t focus on building friendships. I spent my time cleaning, cooking, and making sure everyone else was taken care of. I would often go to bed in my clothes that I didn’t change from the day before and then get up and start it all over again. I’m telling you, neglecting yourself is a tragedy. I am through with treating myself like shit. I made a commitment to myself on the 1st of January that I was going to love myself. I was going to lose the weight I gained and to improve my overall health. I bought a fitbit off of craigslist on March 31st. I wish I had done this sooner. Here are my stats from April according to the fitbit. I am just amazed to be honest with you.

35.25 hours of cardio zone heartrate

95,216 calories burned

570,511 steps

997.41 miles walked

I looked at these stats and my jaw dropped! I lost 15 pounds in the month of April. I hit the gym on the average of 6 days a week for 1.5 hours per day plus my job that is very active. I dropped 4 uniform pants sizes since January. My current weight as of this morning is 168.6. I am so happy with my progress. The hardest part of this transformation so far has been mental. We block ourselves and self-destruct so many things in our lives. I know that since the birth of my first daughter almost 19 years ago, my body has been in constant flux. I have had 5 children, all single births, and gained and lost so much weight for those pregnancies. My body feels used and stretched out but I am now reclaiming that. I used to say liposuction and a tummy tuck is so much easier. It may be, however, if you get that done and haven’t changed how you think about yourself, you may just go back to that original state and weight. I read somewhere and I don’t know how credible it is, but what the article said was when you shed weight in a fast way with procedures such as plastic surgery, your body replaces the fat cells lost with more. Supposedly it remembers how many fat cells you had and goes into protection mode. It made sense to me. You have to train your body to burn and metabolize food in a natural way over time. It took many years to put on weight, being patient and taking it off correctly is that hardest part. I started lifting weights and incorporating heavy cardio. I am still not at my goal but I am on my way. I got a scan done on April 9th and another one on May 9th. I will post the comparison on my blog. I want to help and inspire so many people. As women, we need to help elevate other women. I attached a picture I just took of myself this morning after the gym. You can shed the weight you don’t want. Don’t buy into all these diet pills and miracle procedures. If you want to change your body you can. It is going to take a hell of a lot of work on your part but it will be well worth the payoff in the end. Challenge yourself!!!!!Please post your comments below and share your story!!!
