What’s your outlet?

Everyone needs to have some sort of stress relieving outlet. What’s yours? I have recently spoken to many people about how they relieve their stress. One thing they all had in common was they had a hobby. The hobby had the same qualities among those I spoke to. That quality was they all loved and was interested in what they chose to spend their time doing. Some of the people tried many activities before realizing what activity stood out the most and that they liked the most. It is important to explore new things and ideas because you just never know what you will find interesting. It is kinda like seeing a shirt on a rack in the store and saying it’s ugly or not for you when it’s on the hanger. However, I have tried on some of those clothes and discovered it actually looked good on me and I purchased it. So, the moral of this story is to explore, even if you think you may not like it. You could not only discover something new about yourself, but you might be good at something you didn’t even want to give a try to. Enjoy your day!

What we crave….

We crave connection. Look at traffic for instance, you will notice that people travel in packs on the road. There will be clusters of cars traveling together even though they are going to different destinations. We crave connection and some sort of acceptance from others. With cell phones and social media, we are still not getting that connection. As a matter of fact, I am convinced we are less connected than ever. I see so many couples on dates ignoring each other because they are on their phones. I see people walking down the street with their faces in their phones. I know for myself, I need that deep connection, that face to face interaction, those conversations that are not superficial…… You are never going to get what you need or establish any deep connection if you are not in the present. You have to be an active participant. My challenge to you today is this, have a face to face conversation and be in the present. Don’t check your phone, don’t think about what you could be doing, listen to the person in front of you and actively listen to them. You just never know what you might discover…………..

….it’s the little things….

When I look at the grand scheme of life and try to break it down into something smaller, I realized the little things in life are the big things. So many people live with an end goal in mind and they are always trying to achieve it. I, on the other hand, have taken a different approach to life. I will live in the moment and try to notice details surrounding me, such as, the way the breeze feels as it glides past my face, or the way a bird is chirping, the flowers that are around me, and so on. The day I began making an effort to slow my thinking down and become cognizant of life that was presently going on around me, was the day I began to feel peaceful inside. The end of this life on Earth is death. I want to be alive while I am here. We do not know the moment we will no longer be here. I want to make every moment I have worthwhile. The journey IS the journey. Enjoy it!

It is already in you….

Everything you need to be successful is already in you. We can learn from others how to go about tasks or strategies for success, but you already possess your strengths that make you unique. We each offer this world a perspective that no one else has. Our experiences shape who we are and we can use those experiences to help others. The story of the baby born without legs who grew up in an adoptive family to be a gymnast, was a gymnast because it was already in her. Her name is Jennifer Bricker . Her parents never told her she couldn’t do something and she always believed she could do anything. Her idol was a famous gymnast. Later she found out that she was the sister of Dominique Moceanu.  The talent that was in her, was not taught, it was already within her. She had this burning desire to be a gymnast and she was because she pushed herself, even though, she was born without legs. We all have some burning desire to accomplish something. It is up to you to explore and really dig deep down into your soul and find what that burning desire is.  Many of us go through life feeling unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I really feel that feeling stems from deep within us because we are not living our full potential. Surround yourself with people that lift you up and have huge goals and aspirations. The feeling to be more is very contagious. Light that fire within you! We are all a part of the human experience. Are you ready to discover who you are?

What motivates you?

Many of us need to really be “moved” to be motivated to change the direction of our lives. For some of us, that could be a devastating event and for others, they are just naturally curious. What gets you going? For me, it is the internal drive to improve myself. If I am unsure how to do something or I am unaware of how to do something, I usually research it and try it. Sometimes, I realize I don’t like whatever task I am doing, but I learned something in the process. If we go day in and day out, eating relatively the same food, falling into a similar pattern for the day, and never really looking to learn something new, then we get bored. I used to think I got bored of the job I was doing and then needed to find a new one. I have since realized, it is not the job, it was my life. I needed to grow my soul and cultivate my skills.  I like to shake things up and throw myself a curve ball. Doing that keeps my brain and my body motivated to do more. I know I need more of nature and becoming one with nature. I used to be so distracted by social media and not paying as much attention to who is real in my life. I am happy things have recently become even more clear. I have to say, life in your 40’s is divine.  What gets you motivated?

Genius!

So, everyone is doing something you probably thought of. The difference is, they acted upon their idea. I heard once that if you don’t act on an idea within literally5 seconds, your motivation is gone to do anything about that idea. It is so true!!! So, train yourself to get the motivation to act. Set your alarm 30 min early and push the covers off. Break through your routine and use that change to push you forward. There is a chain reaction to changing your routine. You will find yourself making other decisions that are maybe more bold later in the day. Change your routine, change your life! Success is simple but the path is not easy. STOP making excuses as to why you can’t and say why you can! It ain’t rocket science people!( Yes, I know ain’t isn’t a word!)

The world is full of brokenness….

The world is broken.

We all need healing, hope, and love.

The world is broken.

Our hope can only come from above.

The world is broken.

War rages everyday.

The world is broken.

We can change that day by day.

The world can be hopeful.

WE need to change our attitudes and spring into action.

The world is love.

WE need to show how to love by simple actions.

The world was created out of love from above.

Let’s reflect that in how we live.

The world is healing.

The world may be broken but we can change that if we change ourselves. Live feeling hopeful, love fully, and live a life that is worth living.
